Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate: Just like the saloon, the C-Class Estate has also been awarded an environmental certificate, by which the TÜV (German technical inspectionagency) confirms the environment-oriented development process employed for the Mercedes models: 39 components have been approved for recycled plastics and 32 components of the estate vehicle are made from renewable raw materials. An example of the practical recycling of materials is provided by the front wheel well liners on the C-Class, which are made from the housings of discarded starter batteries as well as from bumper covers and production wastes from the manufacture of cockpits.
