Kassel, Jun 14, 2017 - Production of the new fuel-efficient truck axle started yesterday at the Mercedes Benz plant in Kassel. The rear axle reduces fuel consumption of the Mercedes-Benz Actros by up to 0.5 percent.

Kassel, Apr 18, 2016 - Am 18. April beginnen sechs Flüchtlinge und Asylbewerber ein sogenanntes Brückenpraktikum im Mercedes-Benz Werk Kassel. Die Teilnehmer wurden von der Bundesagentur für Arbeit und dem Jobcenter Kassel ausgewählt. Sie stammen aus Syrien und dem Irak und sind zwischen 21 und 36 Jahre alt. Neben einem praktischen Teil in der Ausbildungswerkstatt, der mechanischen Fertigung und Montage sowie der Logistik besuchen die Praktikanten täglich einen Deutschkurs. Ziel ist, die Teilnehmer nach dem Brückenpraktikum an Unternehmen, Zeitarbeitsfirmen oder in eine Berufsausbildung zu vermitteln.

Kassel, Mar 11, 2016 - Production milestone at Mercedes-Benz Kassel plant: Today, the plant produced its 100,000th IPS axle for Mercedes-Benz trucks. IPS is a german shortcut and means 'Induction Pressure Welding'. The technology enables for the first time to weld steel and casting parts with any contours. This welding technology is unique in the world: In this process, the main body of the axle, called the axle housings, is manufactured from three elements and adapted flexibly regarding to the regional vehicle and market requirements.
