  • Stuttgart/East-London, Jun 26, 2018 - Mercedes-Benz Cars will also produce the next generation of the C-Class in East London (South Africa) and expands the plant with an investment of 600 Million Euro.
  • Stuttgart / East London, Südafrika, May 28, 2015 - In South Africa’s Eastern Cape province, the one millionth passenger car has rolled of the assembly line in the Mercedes-Benz East London plant - a white C-Class Sedan in right-hand drive. The new C Class is being produced in East London since May 2014. It is already the fourth generation of the highest-volume Mercedes-Benz model rolling of the assembly line at this production site. The plant is part of the global production network for the C-Class, which includes the lead plant in Bremen, Germany as well as the production site in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in the USA and the Chinese production site at BBAC in Beijing.
  • East London, South Africa/ Stuttgart, Germany , May 15, 2014 - East London, South Africa / Stuttgart, Germany – About three months after the start of production of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class at the Bremen plant in Germany, the second of the total of four locations started production of the highest volume Mercedes-Benz model line: For the East London plant, this is already the fourth generation of the C-Class. The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan is the first Mercedes-Benz model to be produced on four continents: Bremen and East London will be followed by the plants in Tuscaloosa/Alabama (USA) and Beijing (China) within the next months.
