The Mercedes-Benz S-Class: Individual solutions for the highest standards

Mar 3, 2015
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class fuses the perfection of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class with the exclusivity of Maybach. The new luxury saloon is also the top-of-the-range model in an ever-expanding model family which was extended in September 2014 to include the S-Class Coupé and the S 500 PLUG-IN HYBRID as the third hybrid model. 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the exclusive, sporty Mercedes-AMG models provide further individual options which enable personal demands on mobility to be fulfilled with maximum exclusiveness.
The new models are boosting the success of the S-Class. Never before have 100,000 vehicles of the luxury saloon been delivered to customers in the first year of full availability. This therefore constitutes the most successful market launch of an S-Class to date. For decades the Mercedes-Benz flagship model has repeatedly been the world’s biggest-selling luxury saloon.
“Our success and sustained presence in the luxury segment is not equalled by any other brand,” says Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Daimler AG Board of Management and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. “The S-Class family traditionally defines the pinnacle of automobile technology and at the same time sets the standards for stylish luxury.”

The world's first luxury saloon certified to run on under 3 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres is a further milestone on the road to emission-free mobility.
The Mercedes-Benz S 600 is available only with a long wheelbase and luxurious appointments. With an output of 390 kW (530 hp), its V12 biturbo engine develops even more output than its predecessor rated at 380 kW (517 hp). The displacement of the engine has increased from 5513 to 5980 cc. Maximum torque is 830 Nm from 1900 rpm. The extensive standard appointments of the S 600 underline its flagship status. The LED Intelligent Light System, the MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension with ROAD SURFACE SCAN and the Driving Assistance package Plus all come as standard, for example.
The 4MATIC all-wheel drive, which is available in models including the S 500, enhances the S-Class core value “Intelligent Drive” with a new dimension: “superior traction”.
