Berlin.  Lena Meyer-Landrut electrifies her fans with her new, surprisingly different album "Only Love, L", which immediately landed on the charts. Lena is also breaking new ground when it comes to mobility: she is completely committed to her new electric car, a smart EQ.

"Sometimes a reset does you good: you’ve got to change your mind and do things differently. That's why I took a lot of time with my new album," says Lena Meyer-Landrut. "When it comes to mobility, I also think it's time to think about alternatives and take the first, right steps. For me this means: my car is completely electric. This is how I want to make my personal contribution to the environment. It's hard to do everything right, but I think with many small, more conscious decisions we can do things a little better. Accordingly, I feel that smart’s decision to go "fully electric" from 2020 on is an important and strong statement."

Lena has been an enthusiastic smart driver for years. Since January 2019 she has been driving a smart EQ forfour (combined power consumption: 20.8. - 13.4. kwh /100km; combined CO2 emissions: 0g/km*). With her smart EQ forfour, Lena combines the proverbial agility and parking-friendliness of the smart with local emission-free driving and a range of around 155 km in accordance with NEDC - an ideal combination for urban mobility. As a convinced and regular user of an electric vehicle, Lena has now decided to enter into a partnership with smart. Unlike any other brand, smart has radically redefined urban mobility right from the start. As a pioneer in electromobility, smart introduced the smart ed, a fully electric production vehicle, back in 2007, and today already offers the complete model portfolio - smart EQ fortwo, smart EQ cabrio and smart EQ forfour – in fully electric versions. The smart brand will focus entirely on electric drive by 2020, making it the first automobile brand in the world to switch completely from combustion engines to electric drives. The spirit of the smart brand is individual, consistent and sustainable. smart combines electric mobility and environmentally conscious driving with driving pleasure in the city.

"We are pleased to have won Lena for standing as the face for the electrification of our brand. As the driver of a smart EQ forfour and a convinced representative of electric mobility, Lena is the perfect ambassador for our decision to go fully electric from 2020," says Kirsten Ehrlich, Head of smart Sales at Mercedes-Benz Cars Sales Germany (MBD). Together with Lena, we want to make our contribution to the success of electric mobility".
